The Steuben County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) and the City of Angola/Trine University Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) are inviting all local contracting professionals to attend the FREE - 2025 Contractor Workshop on Friday, December 5th from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Cameron Health - Joyce & Al Gutstein Education and Innovation Center located at 407 E. South Street, Angola, IN 46703. Sign-in and breakfast begins at 9:00 a.m., with the program starting at 9:30 a.m. The event will wrap up at noon.
The 2025 Contractor Breakfast will include presentations from three featured speakers. Reid Harris, Stormwater Specialist with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), will review Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWP3) and implementation. Steuben County Surveyor Jim Slabaugh and Deputy Surveyor Greg Knauer will discuss the history of the Steuben County Surveyor's Office, their roles within the department, and how erosion control measures impact drainage infrastructure and maintenance requirements. In addition, Trent Hertzfeld with Utility Solutions, Inc. will provide an overview of Rymar Waterworks Marlee Float Skimmer and Versa-Wattle, sharing information on the products' applications for post-construction.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to win door prizes generously donated by local sponsors, including AutoZone, Angola Seed & Supply, Bubba's Pizza, The Complete Fisherman, FODS, Lawnscape Garden Center, Pizza Hut, S&V, Tractor Supply Co., TRULAND Equipment, Wessler Engineering, and Zollner Golf Course.
