(LAGRANGE) – A LaGrange County school building is for sale.
During a recent meeting, the Lakeland School Corporation Board of Education announced they are selling the Lima Brighton School Building at a price of $1 million.
There is a projected decrease in the enrollment at Lakeland Schools over the next three years. That’s due to the graduating classes being larger than the proposed incoming kindergarten classes. Because of the lower class numbers, Lakeland Schools will see a decrease in education funds.
School officials say the sale of Lima Brighton will position the Corporation to be able to help with staff pay, expansion of curriculum and allow the District to focus on providing high quality programs in all areas for students.
Presently, Lima Brighton School is home to one of Lakeland’s Preschool programs. If the building is sold, Preschool classes will be moved to other facilities.
If you are interested in putting a bid in on the Lima Brighton building you can drop off your offer at the Lakeland School Corporation Office, or mail it to 0825 E 075 N LaGrange, IN. 46761.
During their January meeting, the Lakeland Board of Education will determine whether to reject or accept all submitted offers.
