STRURIS – The Joe Valley Volleyball Club hosted a #JillyStrong fundraiser today at the Doyle Community Center.
The fundraiser is for teammate Jillian Romanyk who was involved in a car accident on U.S. 12 in June that resulted in life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the accident Romanyk’s spinal cord was severed and her left foot was amputated. She is now paralyzed from the waist down.
The event consisted of volleyball tournaments, 50/50 raffles, and silent auctions to raise money for Romanyk.
The group had already raised $2,500 before the start of the event.
All of the proceeds from the day went to the St. Joseph County United Way fund in Romanyk’s name.
