(UNDATED) – Branch County Republicans have named their candidate for Sheriff.
During the Primary Election, Republican voters selected Fred Blankenship to be on the November General Election in the race for Sheriff. Blankenship, a Captain with the Sheriff’s Department, received 2,517 votes, or 47.7% of the votes cast.
Robin Swartz collected 1,619 votes, or 30.7% of those that were cast. Michael Thyng received 1,129 votes or 21.4%.
No other candidates from any party were on the Primary ballot.
