(DEKALB COUNTY) – The driver of a vehicle suffered a broken leg when it crashed.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says 26 year old Dillon Howe of Auburn was driving his pick up west in the area of the 4300 block of County Road 40A just before 5 AM Sunday. Deputies say as Howe was approaching a left hand curve in the road, he looked down at his phone and started to slide sideways, striking a power pole and shearing it off at the base. The power lines came down on the truck.
Howe was taken to Parkview DeKalb Hospital where it was found he broke his left tibia.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
