(ANGOLA) - Mike Meeks has officially filed paperwork to run for Steuben County sheriff, becoming the first candidate to submit filing documents as the election window opened.

In a campaign press release, Meeks said filing early reflects his commitment to the campaign and his focus on connecting directly with voters across the county.

"I'm proud to officially file and take this next step," Meeks said. "This campaign has always been about showing up, listening, and working hard for the people of Steuben County."

Meeks, a longtime public servant, is running on a platform centered on accountability, community engagement, and fair enforcement of the law.

His campaign emphasizes direct outreach, with Meeks spending recent months meeting residents, listening to concerns, and outlining his vision for the future of the sheriff's office.

Campaign officials say Meeks plans to maintain an active schedule in the weeks ahead, attending local events and continuing conversations with voters throughout Steuben County.
