(STEUBEN COUNTY) - Steuben County officials have lowered the county's travel status back to a yellow advisory as road conditions continue to improve following winter weather.
The Steuben County Commissioners authorized the change, moving the county out of a higher travel restriction. Highway crews are still actively working to clear remaining snow and reduce drifting on county roads.
Officials are reminding motorists to continue using caution when traveling, especially on rural roads where conditions may still be hazardous.
A yellow travel advisory is the lowest level of local travel restriction. It indicates that routine travel may be affected in some areas due to hazardous conditions, and drivers should be alert and avoid problem areas when possible.
The yellow advisory will remain in effect for now and will be re-evaluated as conditions continue to improve.
