(AUBURN) - Hearten House's weekend fundraising gala brought in more than $193,000 to support women experiencing homelessness.

The event, held Saturday, Feb. 21, benefited Hearten House, a faith-based organization that provides housing, counseling and support services for women in crisis. Supporters say the funds will help expand programs focused on recovery, stability and long-term independence.

Organizers described the turnout as overwhelming, crediting donors, sponsors, volunteers and attendees for the event's success.

Hearten House leaders said the money raised represents more than financial support, calling it an investment in restored lives, reunited families and renewed hope for women working to rebuild their futures.

The Hubie Ashcraft Band, which partnered with the organization for the event, praised the community's generosity and continued support of the mission.

Hearten House serves women facing homelessness and other life-disrupting challenges, offering transitional housing along with spiritual and emotional care. Proceeds from the gala will fund housing operations, outreach and support services throughout the region.

Organizers encouraged those who were unable to attend to learn more about the organization and ways to help at heartenhouse.org.

Community leaders say the strong response demonstrates broad local support for programs addressing homelessness and recovery in northeast Indiana.
