(ANGOLA) - The Steuben County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning shooting incident at a rural residence in Pleasant Township.
Just after 5 a.m. on Feb. 26, Steuben County 911 received a report of several gunshots heard east of a home in the 100 block of South CR 325 West. When the caller checked the property, they discovered the residence had been struck multiple times.
Deputies from the Sheriff's Office and officers from the Angola Police Department responded and searched the immediate area. Authorities say no vehicles or individuals were located during the initial search.
None of the occupants inside the home were struck by the gunfire, and no injuries were reported.
Sheriff's detectives were called to assist with the investigation. During the initial crime scene processing, multiple spent shell casings and at least one projectile were recovered.
The case remains under investigation.
