(FORT WAYNE) - The Indiana Air National Guard's 122nd Fighter Wing has announced a leadership change for its senior enlisted position.
Chief Master Sgt. Joseph A. Lewis has been appointed as the wing's new command chief, replacing Chief Master Sgt. Kyle D. Hoopingarner, who retired from the role.
The transition was marked during an assumption of responsibility ceremony Saturday at the Indiana Air National Guard base in Fort Wayne.
Wing Commander Col. Scott T. Boatright said the command chief serves as the senior enlisted leader and represents the interests of the wing's enlisted personnel.
Lewis began his military career in 2003 with the U.S. Marine Corps before joining the 122nd Fighter Wing in 2008. During his time with the unit, he has served in several roles including weapons load team member, recruiting office supervisor, base education training manager and medical group senior enlisted leader.
