(FORT WAYNE) - Quick thinking and fast action by an Indiana State Police trooper on Sunday prevented a potentially dangerous situation along Interstate 69.
Authorities say Master Trooper Eric Perkins was patrolling near the 228.3 mile marker when strong winds caused a large shed to break loose and begin blowing toward the interstate.
Perkins used his patrol vehicle to block the shed from entering the roadway and reaching oncoming traffic.
Officials say the action prevented what could have become a serious hazard for motorists traveling through the area. No injuries were reported.
