(ANGOLA) - More than 140 students from 15 high schools across Indiana, Michigan and Ohio competed in Trine University's 49th annual Mathematics Competition.
The event featured both individual and team contests.
A team from Saint Joseph High School in South Bend took first place. Team members Bryan Onofre-Vivar, John Morin, Julie Walatka and Ethan Miller each received renewable $3,000 scholarships to Trine University. Their teacher, Brett Goodrich, received a $500 award.
Second place went to a team from Northridge High School in Middlebury, while Penn High School in Mishawaka finished third.
In the individual competition, Sultaan Khan of Penn High School won first place and a renewable $5,000 scholarship.
