(ANDERSON) - A routine trip to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles turned into a mystery for an Anderson woman now searching for her real-life look-alike.

Erika Brown was renewing her driver's license when the BMV's facial recognition system flagged her photo, raising concerns about possible fraud.

She was later contacted by an investigator and asked to provide additional documentation to verify her identity before receiving her new license.

During that process, she was shown a side-by-side comparison of her photo and another woman registered at a different Indiana address. The two looked nearly identical--and are the same age.

Brown said the resemblance was "really strange and bizarre," noting no one had ever told her she looked like someone else.

She has since taken her search to TikTok, hoping to track down the mystery woman and learn more about the connection.

After nearly three months, the issue has been resolved and Brown has received her license, but questions remain.

State officials say hundreds of similar identity flag cases are handled each year as part of routine fraud checks.
