(GARRETT) - Garrett High School will have a new principal starting next school year.

The Garrett-Keyser-Butler Community School District Board has approved Kyle Wood to take over the role beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.

Wood brings 18 years of experience in education, including the past 11 years with Northwest Allen County Schools.

District officials say his background includes teaching and leadership roles across multiple grade levels, along with administrative experience at Carroll High School and Huntertown Elementary.

Superintendent Dan Durrwachter says Wood's leadership will focus on student success, well-being, and building a positive school culture.

Wood is a graduate of Columbia City High School and holds degrees from Huntington University and Purdue Fort Wayne.

He and his wife have three daughters.
