(LANSING) - Michigan's "I Voted" sticker contest has drawn a record number of entries for the 2026 election cycle.

The Michigan Department of State says 2,095 sticker designs were submitted before the May 1st deadline.

That's a major increase from the 480 entries submitted during the 2024 contest, which produced the now-famous "voting werewolf" sticker.

The designs were submitted by elementary and middle school students, high school students, and Michigan residents of all ages.

A state advisory task force will now narrow the entries down to 75 semifinalists, with 25 designs selected in each category.

Public voting on the semifinalists begins June 1st.

The winning sticker designs will be announced later this summer and distributed to local election clerks for use during Michigan's November general election.
