The community is invited to attend a special Veterans Bench Installation Ceremony hosted by Eagle Scout candidate Michael Fisher on Saturday at Fremont Middle School, 811 West Renee Drive in Fremont. The ceremony begins at 11 a.m.
This special event honors veterans and active military members with the installation of a custom bench recognizing all six branches of the United States military and featuring a POW/MIA tribute. The bench will serve as a lasting reminder of the community's appreciation for the sacrifices made by America's service members.
Ceremony activities include an opening flag ceremony, the Star-Spangled Banner, military branch recognition, music, speeches, prayer, and a closing flag ceremony explaining the meaning behind each fold of the American flag.
Organizers say Fremont Middle School was selected as the location because it serves as the annual site for the community's Veterans Day You're encouraged to attend and show support for local veterans and military families.
