(BREMEN) - Indiana State Police troopers assigned to the Toll Road Post conducted a high-visibility "Wolfpack Patrol" Friday night into Saturday morning as Memorial Day weekend travel increased across northern Indiana.
The patrol covered the Indiana Toll Road from border to border and focused on aggressive driving and impaired driving enforcement.
According to Indiana State Police, troopers issued 12 traffic citations during the operation, including three seat belt citations. Troopers also issued 22 warnings.
The enforcement effort resulted in four impaired driving arrests, 11 misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest. Troopers also handled one minor consuming alcohol violation.
State police reported six criminal defendants and four incarcerations as a result of the patrol.
In addition to enforcement activity, troopers provided nine motorist assists during the overnight operation.
Indiana State Police said similar high-visibility patrols will continue throughout the communities and roadways troopers serve, with a continued focus on impaired driving enforcement and criminal interdiction efforts aimed at improving public safety.
