Powers Church Service

June 28, 2026

The first service of the season at the historic Powers Church will be held Sunday, June 28 at 7:00 P.M. This service will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Church. Blake Stevenson, pastor of the Northview Christian Church, will give the devotions for the service. After service ice cream will be served.

The Powers Church is a local historic site that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1876 and has been restored to its original condition by a committee of interested people.

Two more services will be held at the church this summer. On July 23, The Pokagon Pitchpipers Barbershop Chorus will provide the music. Chuck Fenwick, Pastor of the Angola United Methodist Church, will give the devotions. On August 23, the Little River Chorus will provide the music, and Mike Hesterman, pastor of the Metz Christian Church, will give the devotions. The final service of the year will be a Christmas service on November 29 at 3:00 pm. This will include reading the Christmas story and singing Christmas carols.

The church is located nine miles east of Angola, just north of US 20 on Old Road 1. A free will offering will be taken to enable further restoration of the church. The public is invited to attend. For more information call 260-668-5908 or visit our website at www.powerschurch.org.
