(DEKALB COUNTY) - Slick roads are being blamed for a crash early Thursday that left an Ohio woman injured after her car slid off the roadway and hit a tree.

Deputies say 55-year-old Barbara Gordon of Edgerton was driving east on County Road 40A around 6:30 a.m. when she hit a patch of ice near County Road 41. Her 2016 Smart Car lost control, veered off the south side of the road, and slammed into a tree. Gordon complained of chest pain and was taken to the hospital by Parkview EMS. Her vehicle was totaled. Auburn Fire and DeKalb County Communications assisted the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office at the scene.
