HOWE, Ind. (WLKI)- Postle Aluminum is investing approximately $36 million to establish a new aluminum extrusion manufacturing operation in Howe, a project expected to create about 100 jobs during its first six months of operation.
The investment includes the acquisition and development of a more than 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 290 West 750 North, along with the installation of two new aluminum extrusion presses.
Postle acquired the 33-acre property Dec. 1, 2025, following what the company described as an extensive search for a location capable of supporting extrusion manufacturing.
Company officials said the building's long, narrow layout is well suited for aluminum extrusion presses and leaves room for future expansion.
The new facility will include 7-inch and 10-inch aluminum extrusion presses. Postle said the highly automated equipment is expected to add about 50 million pounds of annual extrusion capacity, allowing the company to serve new customers and expand into additional market segments.
The LaGrange County Council approved a 10-year personal property tax abatement totaling $21,081,060 on May 11 to support part of the company's investment in manufacturing equipment. The LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation worked with Postle during the abatement process and continues to assist the company as it establishes the Howe operation.
Postle has already hired approximately 25 employees for the facility and expects to hire another 25 workers over the next four to six weeks. As production ramps up, the company anticipates creating approximately 100 new jobs within the first six months of operations.
Testing on the 7-inch press is expected to begin in mid-October. Testing on the 10-inch press is scheduled to follow in mid-December.
Postle expects both presses to reach full-scale production around the clock, seven days a week, by March 2027.
The company said the Howe operation also offers significant opportunities for future growth.
