(FORT WAYNE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department says Officer Justin Koehl has died following a battle with a brain tumor.
According to the department, Koehl passed away Tuesday at Stillwater Hospice, surrounded by his family. In a statement, FWPD asked the community to keep his loved ones in their thoughts and to respect the family's privacy as they grieve. The Allen County Sheriff's Department also offered condolences, calling Koehl a dedicated public servant whose courage and strength continued even through his final battle.
