ANGOLA, Ind. (WLKI)- Angie Logan, president and CEO of Cameron Health, has received Trine University's annual Woman of Distinction Award.

Logan was recognized during Trine's Touchstone and Homecoming Celebration Dinner October 2 at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Inc. Athletic and Recreation Center.

The award recognizes women whose contributions reflect service, innovation, leadership and support in philanthropy, business and education.

In accepting the award, Logan said the accomplishments recognized by Trine were the result of teamwork and community partnerships.

"I am so grateful for our partnership with Trine University," Logan said. "Trine's leadership is visionary and genuinely committed to the spirit of community."

Logan said Cameron Health's work with Trine on the Associate of Science in Nursing program and the Joyce and Al Gutstein Education and Innovation Center are especially meaningful to her as a nurse.

"I believe that the impact of these initiatives will be felt for years to come," she said.

Trine President Tony Kline praised Logan as a healthcare leader and longtime university partner.

"We thank you, Angie, for everything you do to help keep Steuben County healthy, now and in the future," Kline said.

Logan began her nursing career in 2000 as an acute care nurse and nursing supervisor at Lutheran Hospital. She later held several leadership roles, including nurse manager of the advanced cardiac therapy unit.

In 2013, she received the Heart Failure Nurse Maven Award from The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium. She later served as chief nursing officer at Dupont Hospital and Lutheran Hospital before joining Cameron Hospital in 2019 as vice president of nursing and chief nursing officer.

She became interim CEO of Cameron in 2021 and was later named president and CEO.

Logan played a key role in Cameron Health's partnership with Trine that led to the university's nursing program. She also spearheaded construction of the three-story, 32,000-square-foot Joyce and Al Gutstein Education and Innovation Center, which includes classrooms, labs and simulation spaces for nursing students.

In addition to her healthcare leadership, Logan serves on the board of the Steuben County Community Foundation.
