(DEKALB COUNTY) – A person was injured when their vehicle struck a piece of farm equipment.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was called to an accident in the 700 block of State Road 1 for a report of a pick up truck that struck a tractor. When they arrived, deputies determined that the pick up struck a piece of farming equipment.
The pick up driver, 66 year old Phuoc Huu Ngo of Fort Wayne, told deputies he could not see the farming equipment until it was too late, and he struck it. He was taken to the hospital with neck pain.
The driver of the tractor, 60 year old Lynn Reinhart of Butler, was not injured.
Deputies did determine that the farming equipment was not equipped with the proper lighting, which played a major factor in the crash.
