(DEKALB COUNTY) – A semi driver had minor injuries after his vehicle rolled over.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office says a semi was heading west in the 4700 block of State Road 8 at 10:43 AM Monday, when the vehicle went off the north side of the road. The driver, 64 year old Anthony Bennett of Fort Wayne, says an east bound vehicle crossed over the center line, causing him to veer away.
The semi’s passenger side tires went into the ditch. As Bennett attempted to get the truck back on the road, the weight from the steel coils on the trailer caused the semi and the trailer to overturn.
Bennett suffered some minor abrasions and lacerations. He refused treatment at the scene. The semi is considered a total loss.
Assisting at the scene were the Butler Fire Department and Parkview DeKalb EMS.
