(ANGOLA) – Angola’s Police Chief and Fire Chief will be getting an increase in their pay.
Monday night, the Angola Common Council was presented with the second reading of an ordinance to fix the compensation for appointed officers, deputies and other employees along with for the Police and Fire Departments.
Angola Mayor David Martin shares that there was some extra focus given to the Police and Fire Departments, due to the Chiefs being payed less than some of the members of the departments. LINKC.
Martin says he and Angola City Clerk-Treasurer Ryan Herbert looked at the numbers and what could be done to change this.
Martin simply says this needs to change for the betterment of these two departments, and all City departments. LINKD.
The Council voted unanimously to approve the pay rate change as it was presented.
