(LAGRANGE) – LaGrange County Commissioners heard a presentation on the creation of two new trails.
Octavia Yoder, Executive Director of the LaGrange County Community Foundation presented the proposed plan. Presently, there are less that ten miles of multi-use trails in LaGrange County.
Yoder says the LaGrange County Trails presented the Foundation about creating a Master Trails Plan. The Foundation also received money from the Lilly Foundation to explore opportunities for LaGrange County.
This plan is in addition to the Hawpatch Trail, which is already being worked on.
Yoder says after several community sessions the proposed plans were created and she shares the top two trail recommendations. LINKC.
Yoder says this Master Trails Plan is a guide and not set in stone. She says there are still many steps to be taken before these trails could be constructed. The biggest is funding and where it will come from.
