(ANGOLA, IN) - A proposed downtown outdoor drinking district cleared another hurdle Monday night after the Angola Common Council unanimously approved the second reading of the city's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area ordinance.
The proposed DORA would allow patrons to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and carry them within designated downtown boundaries around the Public Square. Supporters say the district would help downtown businesses, encourage foot traffic and make community events easier to host.
The measure now moves to a third reading before the council.
