(INDIANAPOLIS) - A new fairgrounds train ride, an interactive Wiffle ball stadium and nearly 50 new food items are among the additions planned for the 2026 Indiana State Fair.

The fair runs Aug. 7 through Aug. 23 and will be closed Mondays.

This year's theme, "Baseball Lives Here," celebrates Indiana's baseball tradition in partnership with the Indianapolis Indians.

One of the largest additions is the new State Fair Train. The narrated ride will travel around the north side of the fairgrounds and highlight the fair's sights, sounds and history. Rides will cost $5.

Visitors can also play Wiffle ball at Schumacher Stadium inside Meijer Family Fun Park. The attraction is named for longtime Indianapolis Indians executive Max Schumacher and will feature free play, tournaments and appearances by celebrity players.

A new traveling exhibit called "REWIND: A VHS Revival" will celebrate movie-poster artwork from the 1980s through the early 2000s. It will also include a baseball movie theater, Moulin Rouge Speakeasy, Indianapolis Indians gift shop and Indy CD & Vinyl pop-up store. Admission is included with a fair ticket.

The Big Top Circus will return with a new lineup of acrobatics and comedy. Free 45-minute shows will be presented three times each day inside an air-conditioned tent.

Other additions include calf cuddling, tortoise feeding, breakdancing and street performances, a one-man band and a new youth division in the fair's Mullet Competition.

Daniel Tiger and characters from "Dinosaur Train" will appear on Saturdays. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will visit Aug. 15 and 16, and reality television personalities Amy Slaton, Chris Combs and Brittany Combs are scheduled to appear Aug. 22.

The Indiana History Train will feature a new exhibit on Indiana's interurban electric railways.

Fairgoers will also have nearly 50 new food items to sample as part of the Taste of the Fair competition.
