ANGOLA, IN (WLKI)- The Angola Common Council is scheduled to consider a proposed $900,000 reduction in the city's Local Road and Bridge Matching Grant Fund during its meeting Monday.

The council will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 in the Common Council Room at City Hall, 210 N. Public Square.

The proposed appropriation reduction is contained in Ordinance 1810-2026. The ordinance would reduce the capital outlay appropriation in the Local Road and Bridge Matching Grant Fund by $900,000. A public hearing and the third and final reading of the ordinance are listed under unfinished business.

The council will also hear reports from the clerk-treasurer and department heads and consider approval of accounts payable vouchers totaling $1,604,813.81.

At its Oct. 19 meeting, the council approved the city's 2027 appropriations and tax rates. Members also approved an interlocal agreement with the Indiana Department of Transportation for the State Road 127 improvement project and a construction agreement with Indiana Northeastern Railroad for sidewalk work within the railroad right-of-way.

The Oct. 19 council meeting lasted about 11 minutes, according to the approved meeting minutes.

Monday's meeting will be held in person and livestreamed through the City of Angola's YouTube channel. The council's next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 16.
