Indiana Teacher Salaries Decline

(INDIANA) - Teacher salaries in Indiana have decreased, according to a new report from the Legislative Services Agency. When adjusted for inflation, teachers in the state are earning 3% less. This decline is more pronounced for teachers in rural areas, who are seeing a 5% reduction in their paychecks. Additionally, the report notes that Indiana's teachers are paid less than their counterparts in neighboring states like Ohio, Illinois, and Michigan. There are currently more than 1,100 unfilled teaching positions in schools across Indiana.
