(DEKALB COUNTY) – An Ohio man was injured in a two vehicle crash in Northeast Indiana.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 75 year old Scott Nielsen of Elkhart was driving west in the 4700 block of U.S. 6 at 10:17 AM Monday when a second vehicle, traveling east, crossed over the centerline and sideswiped the Nielsen vehicle.
Nielsen’s box truck began to swerve, eventually skidding off the north side of the road, going into a ditch and then crashing into a fence.
The other vehicle, driven by 59 year old Douglas Wickerham of Edgerton, Ohio, went off the north side of the road and crashed into a ditch.
Wickerham was taken by Parkview DeKalb EMS to an area hospital to be treated for lacerations to the forehead. Nielsen was not injured.
Assisting at the scene were the Waterloo Police and Fire Departments, the Butler Police and the Indiana State Police.
