(MIDDLEBURY) – Sunday’s storms are being named as a cause of death of a Northern Indiana man and three Southern Michigan Children.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says that a tree fell on a van, killing three children from Branch County, as they were in route to a destination in Climax. Killed in the accident were a two year old girl, her four year old brother and another girl, their 11 year old cousin.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller says the parents of the brother and sister, and a fourth child, are in stable condition at an area hospital.
The tree struck the middle of the van, and was so large it extended twelve feet past the vehicle.
Authorities in Elkhart County, Indiana say the intense winds from Sunday’s storms flipped an Amish buggy in Middlebury. 84 year old Lonnie Yoder was killed in the incident.
